What are the key differences between the engin oneHub and the engin Voice Box 1 and engin Voice Box 3102?

It also connects to your existing phone line so you can receive calls to your existing number. On top of that it has an integrated DECT base station, Hi-Definition sound, and a wireless base station. Below is a table illustrating the key differences:

engin Product Number of engin lines Receive calls to your existing number Router Modem
Voice Box 1 2 No No No
Voice Box 3102 1 Yes Yes No

How do I switch to the PSTN landline to make a call?
If for some reason you need to make a call using your existing PSTN landline service you will need to press the *01 key before dialling. Alternatively you can dial *02* and wait for a new PSTN dial tone, then dial the number you want to call using PSTN.
Can I receive calls from my PSTN/landline number and answer them on the phone connected to my engin oneHub?
Yes, when an incoming call comes through on your regular PSTN phone number, both your engin and your PSTN service will ring. To receive the call you can answer either phone (if you still have two handsets).
What happens if my device loses power or my ISP goes down?

If you lose power or Internet connection your engin oneHub will fallback to your PSTN/landline when you go to next make a call. This means that all phone calls that you make will be made through your existing PSTN/landline.

For this reason in case of emergencies engin recommends you do not disconnect your PSTN service.

How can I tell when my PSTN/landline service is active?
You can distinguish between your PSTN and engin service by referring to the display panel located on the front of your engin oneHub. When engin is active the Phone display will flash green on the front of your device. When your PSTN service is active the Phone symbol will not flash green.
Does the engin oneHub support calls to emergency services?

Yes, calls to emergency service numbers are available using the engin oneHub. If your broadband goes down or there is a power outage, your engin oneHub will automatically revert to your PSTN landline service, which will support emergency service calls.

As an engin customer it is important you understand that you must notify us if you change your address, that way if you make an emergency services call, your correct address will be identified.

Please note that emergency services calls are not supported on engin BYO and engin 1way services.

Does the engin oneHub support Quality of Service (QoS)?
Yes the engin oneHub has an automated built-in QoS, which prioritises your voice packets ahead of your data packets. This improves your ability to surf the Internet and talk on the phone at the same time.
