What is Block Last Caller?
If you do not wish for your last caller to be able to ring your telephone again, you can block the caller's number providing their number has not been blocked from being sent.
The telephone number of your last call can be blocked wether you answered the call, did not answer the call or the call was diverted toy our Voicemail. Block last call either gives the caller a busy tone, or diverts to your Voicemail if this is active.

What is Block Anonymous?
If you do not wish to speak to a caller whose caller ID information is not available, you can block your phone from these anonymous callers.

What is Do Not Disturb?
If you do not wish to be disturbed, however require your phone to continue charging on the base, Do Not Disturb wither gives callers a busy tone or diverts to your Voicemail if it is active.

What is Anywhere Connect?
Anywhere Connect allows you to dial into your Engin Voice Box from an outside line (eg another landline or a mobile) and receive a dial tone from your Engin service. You can then make a cheap call to anywhere in the world.

Note: To use Anywhere Connect you will need to have 'Calling Number Display' activated on your PSTN landline service. You may need to contact your PSTN landline service provider to have this activated.
What is Switchback?
This feature means your product will automatically fallback to your PSTN landline when needed (but only if it is plugged into your PSTN wall socket).
Switchback is a feature that is pre-activated on the Voice Box 2, Engin Voice Box 3102, Voice Box 3, Engin Internet Phone 121, and Engin internet phone 221.
This function will occur automatically in any of the following situations:
- Power outage
- Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) goes down
- Your VoIP (Engin) service is interrupted
When this feature is in use, you will be able to automatically make outgoing calls using the same telephone that you would usually use for VoIP calls. To use this feature you will need to retain your PSTN phone service. Please remember that when your Switchback feature is activated then you will be charged for that call by your PSTN phone provider.
What is Landline Ring Through?
Landline Ring Through connects your existing landline telephone number to your new Engin product. This allows you to keep your existing telephone number in use, so when someone calls it your phone will ring as normal. You can therefore use the one telephone to answer calls to both your existing landline number and your new Engin number.
Landline Ring Through is a feature that is pre-activated on the Voice Box 2, Voice Box 3102, Voice Box 3, Engin Internet Phone 121, and Engin Internet Phone 221.

Switchback is a feature that is pre-activated on your Voice Box 2. However, you will need to ensure that the Voice Box 2 is set-up correctly and connected to your landline wall socket.
Switchback allows you Voice Box 2 to revert back to your existing PSTN landline service to make outgoing telephone calls. This will occur when any of the following happens:
- There is a power outage
- Your Internet service is interrupted
- Your Engin service is interrupted
This means that the telephone handset connected to your Voice Box 2 should always be available to make outgoing calls. Please allow approximately 5 seconds for your Voice Box 2 to revert to your landline service in the event of an outage.
Note: To avoid confusion, the Engin service has a different dial tone (continuous uninterrupted tone) to your PSTN service. Please listen for the Engin dial tone before making a call if you wish to avoid additional charges from your existing PSTN service provider.
How can I tell when Switchback is active on my Voice Box 2?
If your Voice Box 2 is plugged into a normal PSTN port then you will be able to tell when Switchback is active by a difference in dial tones.
The Voice Box 2 has a different sounding dial tone, which is a flat constant tone. If Switchback is active then you will hear your normal dial tone.
My Switchback service on my Voice Box 2 is active yet my call will not connect, why?
If you try and make a call approximately 3-5 seconds after your Internet or voice service has gone down you may receive a busy tone, you will need to hang up and redial.

Landline Ring Through is a feature that is pre-activated on your Internet Phone 221. However, you will need to ensure that the Internet Phone 221 is set up correctly and connected to your Landline wall socket.
Landline Ring Through connects your existing landline telephone number with the Internet Phone 221. This means if someone rings your existing landline PSTN phone number then your Internet Phone 221 will ring. You can therefore answer calls from both your existing landline telephone number as well as your new Engin phone number.

Will the Engin Included Features work on my Softphone?
Engin telephone features will not work on your Softphone. However, all of the Engin Call Forwarding Features will work on your Softphone.
How do I use the phonebook on my Softphone?
To use the phonebook on the click the arrow located to the right of the screen to display the Calls and Contacts Drawer. Click 'New Entry' to add a contact and fill in the appropriate details. To dial a number that is stored in your phonebook, simply highlight the contact and select the green dial button on your Softphone. You can also dial a contact from your phone book by selecting their Speed Dial number.
How do I exit from the phone?
To exit from the telephone you need to click on the 'X' button. This will allow you to exit from the phone but leave it running in the system tray so you can still receive calls. To completely exit from the application, right click on the icon in the system tray and select exit.
How do I access my recent calls on my Softphone?
Access your recent calls by clicking the Calls and Contacts Drawer button. Then you can choose between received calls or dialled numbers. Your Softphone will store up to 50 dialled and received calls.
What does the Red bar on the left of my Softphone do?
The red bar on the left is used to adjust your microphone level. If this is set to low the person on the other end may not be able to hear you. If it is set to high then the person on the other end may experience an echo type effect.
What does the Green bar on the right of my Softphone do?
The green bar on your right is used to adjust speaker level. Use this function to adjust the volume of a call.
Why are there the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6 at the top of my Softphone?
The Softphone will display the numbers 1 through to 6 beneath the screen. These numbers represent the different phone lines that are available for use.
What are all the buttons that are displayed at the bottom of my screen when I use my Softphone?
DND is to activate and deactivate Do Not Disturb. AA is to activate and deactivate Auto Answer. AC is to activate and deactivate Auto Conference.
Will Voicemail work on my Softphone?
Yes, Voicemail will work on the Softphone. You will need to call customer service on 1300 305 000 to have it set up.
Note: If you are experiencing difficulties with your Voicemail please make sure you have the following setting selected. Right click and select 'menu' then 'advanced system settings' then 'DTMF settings' then 'DTMF force send inband' and then select 'yes'.
