About your service
All engin Broadband plans include:
- An engin Broadband Phone national service
- Free local and national calls throughout Australia
- Broadband Phone calls are excluded from your monthly data quota
- Free uploads. We only charge you for downloads
- A permanent IP address
- No excess download fees (if you exceed your data quota, we slow your Internet speed to 64kbps)
- A guaranteed channel for your broadband phone calls, ensuring the highest quality even if your connection is slowed
- The ability to purchase afterburners to top-up your data quota should you exceed your monthly limit and don't want your Internet speed slowed down

About your data quota
Each monthly billing cycle, you are allocated two data usage quotas: peak covers usage between 8am and 2am; offpeak covers usage between 2am and 8am. When you use your broadband connection (browse the web, check email, download stuff), you use some of your data quota. At some point in your billing cycle, you may use up all your data quota. If this happens, we slow down your Broadband speed (note each quota is measured and slowed independently of the other). If this happens you can still access the Internet, but it will be really slow (your Broadband Phone service is unaffected, so you can still make and take phone calls). You then have a few options:
- Stick it out until your next billing cycle when you will get a new data quota
- Purchase an afterburner. This lets you top-up your current data quota, giving you another 1GB of high-speed broadband data
- Upgrade to a plan with a larger data quota. This can be done easily online.
About your contract and fees
We offer you two ways to sign up to engin Broadband. Each has its benefits depending on what your outlook on life is!
- No minimum commitment - This allows you to signup for engin on a month-to-month basis. There is no minimum contract and you may cancel at any time. If you chose this option you will not have access to hardware discounts, and will need to pay an installation fee of $140.
- 24 month contract – This allows you to gain maximum benefit from discounts on hardware and installation. By signing up for 24 months, you won't pay anything for installation, and may have access to free hardware. If you cancel your service you simply have to pay us whatever discounts you received at signup, plus a one-off charge of $100 (a third party charge to engin)
About plan changes and relocations
You may change your enginBB plan at any time. There is no charge for plan upgrades. However, there maybe a charge of $40 for plan downgrades..
If you need to relocate your service to another location, we offer the following options:
- If you are on a no minimum commitment plan, you can either pay $75 for relocation or you can sign up for a 24 month contract at you new location and pay nothing for relocation
- If you are on a 24 month contract, you can either pay $75 for relocation and continue with your existing contract, or you can restart your contract and pay nothing for relocation.
